Project Background and Objectives
To support long-term operational sustainability and ensure sound environmental management, Charles River Laboratories initiated an upgrade of the onsite wastewater treatment system at its breeding facility in Hainan, PRC. The objective was to improve treatment performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and align facility operations with corporate environmental sustainability standards.
SIET’s Role and Services
SIET was engaged as the professional project design and management consultant, providing comprehensive support throughout the project lifecycle. Key services included:
- Site survey and assessment of existing wastewater treatment facilities
- Engineering design of the upgraded onsite wastewater treatment system
- Support for procurement, including technical specifications and bid evaluation
- Contract management during construction and installation
- Construction supervision to ensure quality, safety, and compliance
- Oversight of system installation, testing, and commissioning
